Happened to be in a function where CEO of Aachi Masala, Mr. A.Padmasingh Isaac participated. Was impressed to hear his speech. This is a function organized by Self-help group women and so he spoke about the power of women. Just few points which I felt like sharing here…
1. The words he told in praise of his mother. It seems he lost his father when he was 4yrs old. He was all praise for his mother the way she conducted the family without his father. She was able to educate all the 6 children it seems. She had some land and she reared cow and goat and these are the only source of income. He paid tributes to his mother for this act some 30 - 40 years back in a village. He was asking if she can do it some 30 - 40 years back why can’t the current educated come up in life.
2. Second one was more impressive as he was paying tribute to his wife. He clearly admitted that if not for his wife Aachi brand wouldn’t be possible. He was working with godrej some 12 years back with a salary of around 20,000. When he discussed with his wife 12 years back about quitting the job and starting Aachi masala, she had supported him. She was with him supporting him even when the going was so tough during the initial 4 yrs of starting Aachi masala. It seems everyone mocked at them. He was very clear when he said that if his wife haven’t supported him at that time and if she hadn’t stayed composed without creating any issues for him domestically he wouldn’t have succeeded.
Now this question comes into my mind. How many of the business persons (both male or female) have gone through that tough period in business. Mostly all first generation business fraternity would have passed thought that tough phase of losing everything or finding the going tough. How many of them are lucky to have a spouse who stood by them during that tough phase? Wish everyone should know that failures in business are no mistake and with due emotional support anyone can be a success.
